Materials for Your Crochet Squid Game Honeycomb Coasters

  • Yarn: 100% cotton yarn in 2 colors: Color A (light brown/caramel) and Color B (darker brown). NOTE: This was our 1st time making coasters so we used acrylic yarn, not knowing this type of yarn isn’t recommended for coasters as they don’t handle heat well, and also don’t absorb liquid, so use cotton if possible!
  • Hook: 5mm crochet hook
  • Notions: Tapestry needles, scissors

Draw out your desired shape in the center of the coaster using some chalk liner. Feel free to print out our print & cut template here so you don’t need to freehand it! Draw the outline of your desired Honeycomb design in the center.

Using Color B, apply a surface overlay crochet (here is an excellent tutorial if you aren’t familiar with the concept) on your finished flat circle/coaster, following your outline.

And boom – you’re done! Or since it’s Squid Game, should we say “Bang!” you’re done?
